Meet The Owners

In 2024, Courtney and Amy combined their extensive experience, shared passion for athletics, and commitment to youth development to open Dynamic Gymnastics Academy. With a strong foundation built on years of coaching, competing, and mentoring, they set out to create a positive and empowering environment where young athletes could thrive. Their vision for The DGA is more than just a place to train—it’s a community focused on building strength, discipline, confidence, and character. Courtney and Amy look forward to many exciting years ahead, growing their business and inspiring the next generation of athletes to chase their goals, believe in themselves, and discover what they’re truly capable of.

Courtney Selma

Courtney is the owner and head coach of the DGA, bringing a dynamic blend of athletic achievement, coaching expertise, and leadership to the gym. A former Level 10 gymnast by age 15, Courtney transitioned her competitive drive into soccer and rowing—going on to row crew and play semi-professional soccer while attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she earned her degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice.

 

Throughout college, Courtney remained deeply rooted in gymnastics, serving as head coach of a competitive club program for Level 5 through Elite. Under her guidance, every gymnast qualified for State Championships each year. She also coached tumbling for collegiate cheerleaders, further expanding her coaching repertoire.

 

Courtney holds certifications in USAG Coaching, USAG Judging, TOPS, USA Cheer, Safety Certification, and CPR. With her extensive background and passion for youth development, she is committed to helping each athlete grow in strength, confidence, and character both in and out of the gym.

Kyle Slane

Kyle was raised in Mullica Hill, NJ where he resides with his fiancee. Kyle grew up playing for Harrison Township Little League as well as multiple South Jersey travel baseball teams. Kyle attended Clearview Regional High School and pitched for Clearview High School.After High School, Kyle attended the University of Kentucky and was the Club Baseball President for 3 years before walking on his senior year in 2019. Kyle started his coaching career volunteer coaching for Swedesboro Little League and he is currently a professional baseball coach in South Jersey.

Eric Lauk

Eric is a dedicated and accomplished individual with a strong background in both academics and athletics. He graduated from Clearview Regional High School, his talent and hard work earned him a recruitment to play baseball at Wagner College, a prestigious Division I program. At Wagner College, Eric balanced the demands of being a student-athlete, demonstrating his commitment, discipline, and time management skills. His experience on the baseball team honed his teamwork and leadership abilities, which have been invaluable in his professional career. Away from the field, Eric enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends, and their two dogs, Hank and Winston.

Jaylen Shanklin

Jaylen Shanklin, a South Harrison, New Jersey native, has built an impressive career in athletics, excelling in. multiple. sports.his athletic journey at Rowan University, Jaylen graduated in 2022 while competing in both wrestling and rugby. As a wrestler, he was nationally ranked at heavyweight and a two-time national tournament qualifier. On the rugby field, he was a three-year starter for a top-25 nationally ranked team.Currently, Jaylen serves as the Head Coach of the Rowan Wrestling Club Team

Steven Gardner

Steven was recruited to play baseball at Susquehanna University while majoring in Exercise Psychology. During that time, Steven worked for the YMCA, where he first began building his Speed & Agility program. Steven began coaching various sports in 2009.  As a member of the United States Air Force,  he resumed courses in Exercise Psychology.  During the off season, he has delivered his Speed & Agility program to youth athletes. Steven specializes in Group Speed & Agility sessions & Private Speed & Agility lessons. Steven currently resides in NJ, with his family.
